Photography has always been more than just a hobby for me—it's a profound passion that intertwines with the very essence of how I experience the world. Each click of the shutter is like capturing a piece of my soul, a fleeting moment that tells a story beyond words. What truly fuels my passion is the emotional connection I forge with my subjects. There's something incredibly special about witnessing and documenting genuine, heartfelt moments. Whether it's the laughter of a family gathered together, the quiet intimacy of a couple’s embrace, or the candid expressions of a child discovering something new, these moments are treasures that I strive to capture with authenticity.
MEET ME
Oh, I’d love to share that experience with you! Being the photographer for the Columbus River Dragons was an incredible journey. The FPHL team really knows how to bring the energy and excitement of hockey to life, and capturing that through my lens was a true passion project.
Growing up, hockey was a huge part of my life. My dad and I spent countless hours watching the Detroit Red Wings together. Those moments were more than just bonding time—they were where my love for the sport was really kindled. The intensity, the strategy, the sheer thrill of the game—it all resonated with me deeply.
When I got the chance to shoot for the River Dragons, it felt like a dream come true. The adrenaline of being rinkside, the challenge of freezing those high-speed moments in time, and the camaraderie of being part of the team’s journey were absolutely exhilarating. Traveling to Michigan and North Carolina with the team added a whole new layer of excitement. Each rink had its own vibe, and being able to capture the games in those different environments was just fantastic.
Sports photography, especially for hockey, demands a lot of precision and timing. I had to be quick on my feet, anticipating the action and getting the perfect shot amidst all the chaos. But that’s what makes it so rewarding—every game is an opportunity to freeze a split second of pure athleticism and emotion.
There is no secret that I am obsessed with buying gowns for my client closet. I guess that is a good obsession to have, right?! By having a client closet that is available for any of my packages, this saves you the stress of finding the perfect gown and hoping it gets here in time!
My husband and I do an anniversary session every year. This year we decided to have photos done while we were visiting my in-laws before they move back to the lower 48. Shelby was so gracious to work us into her schedule on a short notice. We were only in town for a weekend and Shelby was very accommodating to our tight schedule. Upon meeting Shelby it felt as if we were all already friends - it was so natural! We had a fun mix of 'classic' poses, modern poses, and active 'hair-flowing' poses. She captured different backgrounds within the same location to display 'Alaska!' - just what we were wanting! Many times people mistakenly think that it is more about having a nice camera than knowing how to properly operate the camera itself. But that couldn't be further from the truth.

Literally the sweetest lady you’ll ever have the pleasure of meeting! A true master of her craft and her dedication shows! I’ve had several photos taken by her, and she’s even edited some for me that I took of my kiddo for his birthday since we were stuck in quarantine! I could cry tears of pure happiness seeing the end products. Being in front of her lens is never awkward and her direction is effortless. Being yourself and having fun is all she wants and she captures it perfectly.
